Oh! How I wish - I could hear the trumpets sound
Signalling HIS call to meet HIM in the cloud
A joyous gathering of the righteous
An eternity in which we shall abound
Oh! How I wish - to be in HIS heavenly abode
To never feel pain wrack my body again
Never again to carry that horrendous load
To never feel the bitter sting of shame, stained upon my name
Oh! How I wish - I could be in HIS blessed presence
To be taken away from this wretched place
Covered in a robe of HIS holy righteousness and grace
To gaze upon HIS most beautiful face
Oh! How I wish – To be in that new Eden
A new Earth and new heaven
The perfect place for the redeemed fallen
A place of ultimate freedom for me to dwell in
Oh! How I wish – I could shed this mortal tent that has become a prison
The sin within corrupts me, so into the darkness I blend in
Longing to be as Adam in the garden, whole before Yahweh
Wondering when all this evil is going to pass away
Yet, to wish is but to clutch at the whisps of cloud that drift idly by
A futile gesture…like clutching of water in one’s hand
As we watch one day meld into another
It is only by faith that I may make my stand in this land
So, to the author and finisher of my faith I turn
Knowing that one day HE shall return
And in that glorious moment I shall hear…
“Well done good and faithful servant!!!”
