Nature Does Speak
The natural world is God’s create, even in its sin affected state we see today, it is beautiful, majestic and wondrous. Creation is evidence of God’s power, authority and glory. So it is with no wonder that it plays a major role within the biblical narrative. Nature Jesus even used it as a foundation and framework of many of his parables and teachings.
We should learn from nature…this is not to say we should worship it instead of God…but rather there are cues and wisdom to be learnt by observing nature and engaging with it.
In Romans 1:20, the apostle Paul informs us that “For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” Meaning that people can and will be judged on their denial of the existence of God by ignoring that God is the creator, and that God creation is evidence of HIS existence.
Furthermore, in Proverbs 6:6 King Solomon says “Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise!” Showing us that we should learn from nature by observing what happens in it - and we should take life lessons that we can then use in our own lives.
Below is an ongoing series of Bible studies that explore lessons we can gain from nature, and from how the holy scriptures connect us to nature.
