Thousands and thousands are dying from a killer virus
All the while our politicians are stalling and lying to us
They debate, throwing around vitriolic hate
Thinking that masks are up to the task
Of protecting the perpetually paranoid, like it’s all no big fuss
Jobs, homes, farms, shops - all gone - even the dogs can’t get a bone
The cities burn while people worship violence in the street
Bowing at the sin-stained feet of humanity - Oh, the vanity!
All-the-while forgetting the one who created humanity - and gave this world gravity
Forgive me of my brevity - But all this smacks of society’s insanity
It’s an eternal calamity – demon inspired sinful iniquity
From shore to shore, thousands crowd the stores
They fight tooth and nail – for things that rot, rust and fail
Blood in the isles – lives sacrificed to Mammon’s wiles
Greed perpetually pouring out of their overwhelmed pores
Wanting more and more and more
Consumer whores that endlessly walk the malls
As neon lights flicker seductively in the night
All-the-while forgetting the Great I AM – He who was before Abraham
Forgive me of my brevity - But all this smacks of society’s profanity
The dopamine addict’s predilection for lit up screens - devours their senses
Active amongst the shadows they live amidst false pretences
Connected to an ether driven hive – they thrive
As they strive for that next high
While others sit and cry – wishing that they could die
As the bitter hate aims to seal their fate
Day after day – night after night – filling graves
All because others felt brave behind their silicon chip might
All-the-while forgetting Yeshua’s name – the one who died to wash away your every shame
Forgive me of my brevity - But all this smacks of society’s depravity
