Crossroads are those significant points of our lives where we face a monumental decision, a change in direction or even our decision to keep living. Â Some people face these trying times more than others.
But there is one crossroad that all of us have to face during this physical, mortal life we are currently living.
Do we believe in Jesus? - the Son of God, who died and rose again so that we can have an eternal relationship with God. At some point in our life we have to address this question. At some point in our life we will be faced with a choice.
The aim of this blog is to help you with that choice, or to strengthen the convictions of your faith in Jesus. It aims to feature the word of God as it applies to our everyday lives. The eternal nature of God's word, and its power, authority and wisdom provides us with a richness of guidance that we, and the world so desperately need. Â
This blog dives deeply into subjects and themes that are common to our modern lives, and illuminates them under the light of the word of God. Over time it will contain topical posts, faith-based poetry of my own, and notes of encouragement. The content and format of this blog may ebb and flow over time, and it is hoped that in time resources for you to use in bible study groups, personal devotions or even in small isolated churches will be provided as links.
Why name it "Crossroads 2 the Cross"? Naming anything is hard, but what I believe the Holy Spirit kept placing on my heart was this...Each of us comes to the crossroads of life where we are considering the meaning, value and direction of our life. We can either walk down the wide, well-trodden path of those who choose the ways and pattens of this world - or - we can choose to accept that Jesus of Nazareth, is the Son of God, our Messiah and that he died and rose again, voluntarily, so that we may have eternal life. It is a deeply personal decision, and a perplexing crossroad to be at. Hence, the name represents a movement away from confusion, to one of clarity - illuminated by the events of the cross. It is my hope that you...not through my own knowledge...but by the grace of God, will be always looking to the cross!!
Please feel free to join to receive reminders of posts, newsletters and the like. Also, feel free to send in prayer requests, or positive testimonies of how Jesus Christ is active in your life. Note: I will not engage with those who are just seeking to cause disruption, to argue minute details that do not affect a person's salvation - to those people I pray that the peace of the Lord come upon you.Â
I pray that this blog refreshes your soul, brings encouragement on those days when the darkness seems to be crushing, and strengthens you to stand, holding firm in your faith.
Are you struggling with life? Jesus truly is the answer. If you call out to him and ask for help - and do so honestly - he will answer you.
